Central Park Walking Tour with Guide Michael Hunt

Central Park covers 843 acres, and this two-hour walk is led by Michael Hunt, a guide who has spent years studying them. He has led more than 800 tours of the park and keeps researching between them. The route runs through the park's history and the people who built it, then turns to what grows and lives there: the trees and plants, the birds and other wildlife. Along the way you stop at statues, bridges and other structures, and at spots that turned up in films shot in the park. The stories are pitched so that adults and children both stay with them. On foot you reach paths and corners that cyclists can't, which is the reason to walk the park rather than ride it. Bookings take up to 12 travelers, and the tour starts and ends at the same corner, 7th Avenue and 59th Street. The guiding is in English.
