DUMBO Street Art, Bridges and Skyline Walking Tour with Photos and a Drink

DUMBO used to be warehouses on the East River waterfront. Now the same brick buildings hold murals, design studios, cafes and breweries, and the streets between them frame some of the most photographed views of Manhattan anywhere. This two-hour walk takes in both halves of that story: the street art and history of the neighborhood, and the skyline across the water. The first part is about the walls. Your guide shows you murals around DUMBO and explains how New York street art has changed over the last fifty-plus years, then leads you into some of the old warehouse buildings and artisan shops to see how the neighborhood reinvented itself. There is some film history along the way too, since DUMBO's cobbled streets turn up on screen a lot. The second part is the view. The route stops at points overlooking the East River bridges that link Brooklyn to Manhattan, with the Manhattan skyline in front of you and, on a clear day, the Statue of Liberty out in the harbor. The walk wraps up on a rooftop deck with a range of food and drink, and one drink is included in the price. The guide doubles as your photographer if you want it. Time is set aside at each stop so you can get your own shots, and the guide will take pictures of you on request, which saves handing your phone to strangers. The route is fully wheelchair and stroller accessible and suits all fitness levels. Service animals are allowed, infant seats are available, and public transport is close by.
