MoMA Admission Ticket with English Audio Guide

Van Gogh's The Starry Night, Picasso's Les Demoiselles d'Avignon and Dalí's The Persistence of Memory all hang in the same Midtown building, a few blocks south of Central Park. This is admission to the Museum of Modern Art, with an English audio guide included. The collection is huge, more than 200,000 works spread over six floors, and it goes well beyond painting. Sculpture, film, design and photography all have their own galleries, and the dates run from the nineteenth century to right now. Frida Kahlo and Jacob Lawrence are here too, alongside the names everyone already knows. Nobody sees all of it in one visit, so go in with a plan. The fourth and fifth floors are where most first-time visitors should spend their time: that is where you find the heavyweight modern works, including Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans and Jackson Pollock's One: Number 31, 1950, as well as the Van Gogh and the Picasso. After that, pick one other department that interests you, design or photography for example, and give it a proper look instead of racing through everything. The audio guide helps with that. It gives the background on the major works as you reach them, which is more useful here than in most museums, since a lot of modern art makes more sense once you know what the artist was reacting to. With this ticket there is no need to queue at the ticket desk. Show your voucher at the entrance at 11 West 53rd Street and go in. The operator lists opening hours as 10:30 am to 5:30 pm daily, with late opening until 8:30 pm on Fridays. Hours can change, so check them before you go. This ticket covers MoMA only and does not include the Metropolitan Museum of Art uptown.
